A FOX affiliate in Oregon is reporting that a transgender man gave birth to a baby boy in Portland this week.
So, in other words, a FOX affiliate in Oregon is reporting that a woman gave birth to a baby boy in Portland this week.
Trystan Reese had to stop taking testosterone so that the pregnancy could progress naturally—which makes sense because, well, a woman can’t pump her body with testosterone and still effectively carry a child.
“We’ve been under medical supervision the entire time,” he said, “to make it as healthy and safe as possible.”
Reese visited a doctor regularly over the course of the pregnancy, just like every other pregnant woman in any given first world country who wants herself and her unborn child to be “as healthy and safe as possible.”
Reese also noted pregnancy cravings, which it appears are mentioned so as to say, “look at this man who carried a child! He had cravings just like women who carry children!” but yes, of course he had cravings like a woman—he IS a woman.
Have I effectively delivered my point yet? Because it can’t be stressed enough:
Trystan Reese was able to carry a child because he is actually a woman, with a woman’s body parts—parts he used to naturally conceive that baby with his male partner, parts he needed to carry that baby to full term, and parts he needed to deliver that baby when nine months had come and gone.
“I’m OK with my body being a trans body,” he said. “I’m OK being a man who has a uterus and has the capacity and capability of carrying a baby.”
This is a classic example of the way that the transgender community denies their own biology. And the public’s willingness to engage in this confusion and treat this story as a miracle (“A man gave birth to a child! Amazing!”) might be the saddest part of all.
Let me clarify: the birth of a child IS a miracle. The remarkable way in which God brings life into this world is incredible, and every child should be celebrated the way this child is being celebrated.
But children should be celebrated for what they TRULY are: the product of love between a man and woman that reflects the love God has for his Church. This is why every baby is a miracle. And this is why the story of the transgender man who carried a baby is a lie. It’s as simple as that.
The Activist Mommy debunked some of the transgender community’s favorite talking points a few months back:
