This week, the Trump administration formally issued the secretary-general of the World Health Organization the required one year’s notice that the United States will no longer be a member of the United Nations-linked entity.
President Donald Trump, amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, has made quite clear that our nation can no longer trust the organization which he says has displayed a disconcerting degree of favoritism for China, a nation which LifeNews notes continues to practice forced abortions as part of its many grievous continued human rights abuses.
“China has total control over the World Health Organization despite paying only $40 million per year compared to what the United States has been paying, which is approximately $450 million a year,” Trump has stated in the past. “We have detailed the reforms that it must make and engaged with them directly, but they have refused to act.”
“Because they have failed to make the requested and greatly needed reforms, we will be today terminating our relationship with the World Health Organization and redirecting those funds to other worldwide and deserving urgent, global public health needs,” the president said.
“Chinese officials ignored their reporting obligations to the World Health Organization and pressured the World Health Organization to mislead the world when the virus was first discovered by Chinese authorities,” he continued. “Countless lives have been taken and profound economic hardship has been inflicted all around the globe. They strongly recommended against me doing the early ban from China, but I did it anyway, and it was proven to be 100% correct.”
“The world is now suffering as a result of the malfeasance of the Chinese government,” Trump said. “China’s cover-up of the Wuhan virus allowed the disease to spread all over the world, instigating a global pandemic that has cost more than 100,000 American lives and over a million lives worldwide.”
This move was praised by pro-life Republican congressman, Rep. Rick Crawford (AR).
“If an organization is going to cover up and lie about another country’s cover up’s and lies, why should we be party to such corruption?” Crawford said. “Withdrawing from the WHO is an important action in accountability for our country and for all countries who’ve suffered due to COVID.”

Allan Parker of the Justice Foundation also told LifeNews.com that he was very happy to see this move, considering the role the WHO has played in perpetuating abortion around the world.
“I applaud and support President Trump in his decision to terminate the relationship between the United States and the radical, pro-abortion World Health Organization. The WHO has long been supportive of compelling countries to recognize abortion rights, even against the wishes of their people. Forcing countries to categorize this crime against humanity as a human right flies in the face of science and the right to life. I am proud that our country will no longer be sending taxpayer dollars to support this radical regime. True, life-saving health measures can be funded through other organizations without an abortion agenda,” he said.
The WHO has long been criticized by pro-lifers and proponents of traditional values and morality as they have openly promoted the concept of “sexual rights” of children and so-called “reproductive justice,” a euphemism for abortion rights, around the globe.
In fact, in the midst of the pandemic, LifeNews explains, they were working to ensure that abortions were made available even as widespread lockdowns were implemented:
WHO received heavy criticism in April when it falsely claimed abortion is considered an essential service during the coronavirus pandemic.
The WHO indicated that “services related to reproductive health are considered to be part of essential services during the COVID-19 outbreak.”
“Women’s choices and rights to sexual and reproductive health care should be respected, irrespective of whether or not she has a suspected or confirmed COVID-19 infection,” WHO said in the statement. Medical groups representing over 33,000 doctors disagree.
The WHO does far more harm than good. It’s high time we pulled the massive amount of funding we’d been forking out to this politicized organization.
