While the case of the White Settlement, Texas church shooting over the weekend seems to be quite cut-and-dry, there is a surprising number of hot takes from leftists who apparently would have preferred that more people had died.
In case you missed it, armed parishioners at West Freeway Church of Christ took out a gunman just six seconds after he opened fire on the congregation. Because of the sharp eye, quick thinking, and great training of the church’s volunteer security team, the assailant was only able to claim two lives that day out of over 240 present in the church at the time.
Unsurprisingly, Former Democratic Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke added his name to the long line of leftists defying all logic to claim the incident as evidence that we need more gun control.
“So saddened to hear about another church shooting in Texas, this one in White Settlement near Fort Worth,” the failed Democratic presidential candidate tweeted on Sunday. “Clearly what we are doing in Texas, what we are doing in this country, when it comes to guns is not working.”

It would appear Beto is either illiterate or is so blinded by his anti-Second Amendment stance that he completely missed the latter half of the headline of the very article he shared, which noted that the gunman was stopped by two church members.
If anything, Texas’ recent move to lift its ban on civilian firearm possession in places of worship saved lives that day.
Naturally, Beto drew plenty of criticism from his fellow blue-checks on Twitter for his utter failure to recognize—and thank—the “good guys with guns” who saved hundreds of lives that day.
If @BetoORourke had his way, no one else would have been armed except for the law-breaking murderer, and more people would have died. https://t.co/2IBXuLdXLH

A gun saved the day. Clearly guns are the problem. https://t.co/jHFXPPQtFl

How did the New York gun laws protect the Jewish people praying that were stabbed by a man with a machete? I noticed you mention sending love and prayers to Monsey but I did not see you call for machete laws. https://t.co/z9W2GAigOV

“Today evil walked boldly among us,” said Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourne on the day of the attack. “But let me remind you, good people raised up and stopped it before it got worse.”
Amen!! While Beto may have been the more vocally extreme of the Democratic presidential candidates, rest assured that each and every one of them would have preferred that the civilians in this church be left unarmed, reliant on police response time.
These people wish to disarm us, and they are working diligently at that goal. They must be defeated. Our survival, not just as a free nation, but as individuals in a violent and sin-stricken world, depends on it.
