Liberals love patting themselves on the back and that’s exactly what they did this past Sunday night when the ACLU honored Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who accused now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault during Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing.
Ford was presented with the Rodger Baldwin Courage Award at the ACLU of Southern California’s Bill of Rights Awards Dinner, according to LifeNews.
“When I came forward last September, I did not feel courageous,” Ford said as she accepted the award.
“I was simply doing my duty as a citizen, providing information to the Senate that I believed would be relevant to the Supreme Court nomination process. I thought anyone in my position would, of course, do the same thing,” she continued.

LifeNews has more:
Ford said she was inspired by Anita Hill, Clarence Thomas’ accuser in 1991, and by values her parents instilled in her growing up in the suburbs of Washington, D.C.“I had a responsibility to my country, to my fellow citizens, to my students, to my children, to live the values that I try to teach them,” Ford told the audience.
She also said her testimony inspired 20,000 women across the country to send her messages about their sexual assault experiences.
“That’s why it means so much to me to be recognized by you tonight,” Ford told the audience. “Because I know you will continue the work of protecting sexual assault survivors and preventing sexual assault. You will continue the work to protect personal privacy and the rights of citizens.”
If Ford’s story had any merit Kavanaugh would likely not be sitting on the Supreme Court right now. The left seems happier to have a man they claim is a sexual assailant sitting on the Supreme Court than actually going through proper due process only to likely discover that Ford’s account of the incident were weak at best. How ironic that this award was given at a “Bill of Rights” dinner!
The ACLU pretends Ford has given a voice to victims of sexual assault but in reality, she has cheapened their real experiences and caused sexual assault to be viewed in a more trivial light as we are now required, by the left, to “believe all women.” We are just supposed to believe when a woman says she has been sexually assaulted by a man regardless of whether or not there is evidence and believe that someone who once held a woman down and tried to take her clothes off is just peacefully sitting on the Supreme Court?! They don’t really believe her. They just like this fantastical idea that we live in a brutally oppressive patriarchy and then give themselves rewards for standing up to it.
This is bravery in 21st century America.
