Canadian Man Saves Thousands on His Car Insurance By Switching…His Gender Identity?

File this under “not The Onion”!

This may come as no surprise to those of you who have been paying attention to the cultural-Marxism-gone-wild policies of ultra-liberal Canada, but it is apparently so simple to change one’s gender identity, you can do so even if you have absolutely no intention of living life as a member of the opposite sex.

This is what one Canadian man discovered when he attempted to save some money on his car insurance and found out first-hand just how simple it was to change his official gender.

Who needs Geiko? A simple on-paper change to your gender identity can apparently save you not hundreds, but thousands of dollars. If you’re a biological man, that is.

The Daily Wire has the story:

In an attempt to save on car insurance, a Canadian male legally changed his gender to female resulting in almost $1,100 in savings.

According to CBC News, a man in his early 20’s and only identified as “David” wanted to buy a Chevrolet Cruze and was given an insurance quote around $4,500. He then asked the insurer if his costs would change if he was a woman. He was told his yearly insurance bill would be reduced to $3,400, or $1,100 less.

“I was pretty angry about that,” David told CBC news. “And I didn’t feel like getting screwed over any more.”

When he asked the insurance agent to change his gender on the policy, his request was denied.

So instead, he changed his gender on his birth certificate and license by first obtaining a doctor’s note by telling the doctor he identified as a woman.

“It was pretty simple,” he said. “I just basically asked for it and told them that I identify as a woman, or I’d like to identify as a woman, and he wrote me the letter I wanted.”

When David applied to change his gender, he was required to have a doctor’s note, but since then, the requirement has been removed.

This is pretty much the natural conclusion of the gender fluidity movement, though. If one can change their gender identity at will, who’s to say David can’t briefly identity as a woman every time he pays his car insurance bill?

And for those who might say he’s not a “real” transgender person or person who identifies as gender fluid, they’ve already bent the rules to the point where they would simply be hypocritical bigots for daring to tell David what gender he can identify with and when.

This is what you get when you try to change the rules as to how gender is determined. Either we go with the biological gender God gave us, and find safe, practical solutions for treating those suffering with mental illness that makes them “feel” otherwise, or anything goes.

There is no in between.
