It would seem as though Chick-fil-A has all but officially abandoned their Christian beginnings and values. Chick-fil-A rose to become the country’s most profitable fast-food chain thanks to the loyal support of its Christian and conservative consumer base, who they are now turning their back on.
Everything changed on November 18, when it was revealed the fast-food chain would no longer be donating to the Salvation Army and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, two organizations that have been criticized by LGBT activists.
Adding insult to injury, it was then revealed that CFA had donated to the far-left Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).
That’s not all. They also have donated money to Covenant House, an organization that openly supports all things LGBT, including Drag Queen Story Hour events.
On its list of “community partners” who have hosted these perverted events around New York City, Drag Queen Story Hour’s website proudly lists Covenant House, alongside several “churches,” elementary schools, and even preschools:
So this is who Chick-fil-A feels is more deserving of charitable funding than The Salvation Army?! This is very problematic for a company that claims to be directed by Christian values.
It’s one thing to help those in the LGBT community by providing them services, as Covenant House does for homeless members of the LGBT, but it’s an entirely different thing to partake in an event in which small children are exploited, like the disturbing and dangerous drag queen story hour events. One is charity, the other is a godless practice of indoctrination and borderline abuse—a practice that now Chick-fil-A supports, apparently.
“Starting in 2020, the Chick-fil-A Foundation is introducing a more focused giving approach to provide additional clarity and impact with the causes it supports,” the November 18 announcement from the restaurant chain read.
“Pride is all about love, acceptance, celebration,” Covenant House declares. “It’s also about recognizing the challenges and injustices that the LGBTQ community faces – particularly when it comes to homelessness.”

Covenant House isn’t the only problem with the shift in donations. JP Duffy recently wrote in an op-ed for USA Today explaining the days of Chick-fil-A’s Christian principles are gone. He went on to talk about a horrifying incident inspired by the hateful, leftist SPLC:
A recent Chick-fil-A tax report also shows donations to various leftist groups or groups with leftist affiliations. But the biggest shock came when Chick-fil-A donated to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a group with a track record of labeling Christians as haters or groups following Christian beliefs as “hate groups.” This is the same group that, in 2012, inspired a gunman to storm into the headquarters of my organization, the Family Research Council, and attempt to murder my colleagues and me and smash Chick-fil-A sandwiches on our faces.
That day I saw our building manager, Leo Johnson, covered in blood as he was rushed into an ambulance. Despite being seriously wounded, Leo heroically tackled the gunman, saving many lives.
The domestic terrorist shooter, Floyd Corkins, told the FBI he had picked the Family Research Council as a target from the Southern Poverty Law Center’s website. He was angered by the Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day held recently, in which huge crowds lined up at Chick-fil-A’s restaurants to show support for its president, Dan Cathy, who had expressed support for marriage defined as between a man and woman.
“There’s no question we know that, as we go into new markets, we need to be clear about who we are,” Chick-fil-A COO, Tim Tassopoulos said. “There are lots of articles and newscasts about Chick-fil-A, and we thought we needed to be clear about our message.” Evidently, who Chick-fil-A is, is a company in support of organizations that slander Christians and inspire leftists to hate them.
That seems to be the “message” they’re sending.
In his op-ed, Duffy also discussed Chick-fil-A’s new path and “message” and how hard it is for him to watch:
It’s difficult to watch Chick-fil-A follow the path of many of its corporate peers.
In 2016, Chick-fil-A’s board selected a new president, Tim Tassopoulos, who is a member of an advisory board for a Boy Scouts council (which has changed the name of its 11- to 17-year-olds program to Scouts BSA). The Scouts BSA has abandoned many of its values in recent years and has never looked back, even as the organization apparently moves closer to bankruptcy.
Chick-fil-A may soon find itself on the same trajectory.
“Religious freedom is the right to live out your faith in every area of life, including the workplace,” Duffy said. “But that freedom is under assault. We can defend this freedom by exercising it. However, that requires courage, which comes through a relationship with God and reverence for his Word.”
Sadly, it looks as though Chick-fil-A’s new management lacks this insight and is taking the restaurant chain the way of political correctness at the cost of Christian values and likely its loyal consumer base.
