According to an announcement on Facebook, yet another Christian small business has been muscled out and deplatformed for daring to stand on biblical principles regarding God’s design for marriage.
Garlands of Grace, a Christian shop that creates beautiful head covering scarves for women who seek to honor their convictions according to their understanding of 1 Corinthians 11, stated in the announcement that they were recently banned from Etsy, where they had made thousands of sales over more than a decade on the handmade goods platform, over their refusal to remove 1 Corinthians 6:9 from their shop description.
The verse, which Garlands of Grace abbreviated slightly, reads, “Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind….. shall inherit the kingdom of God,” which shop owner Rachel rather brilliantly added to the description in June, coinciding with “Pride Month,” a few years ago.
In their Facebook post, Garlands Of Grace states:
After 12 years as sellers on Etsy.com, Etsy has suspended the Garlands of Grace Etsy shop. In our shop profile we stood by Jesus Christ and His Word with the following statement: “Our shop stands for traditional, Biblical marriage! 1 man + 1 woman. ‘Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind….. shall inherit the kingdom of God.'” Etsy has said that in order to have our account reinstated we must “remove this content as soon as possible”. As a company, honoring Jesus Christ and His word is our foremost goal. ❤️ We will not be removing His Word from our profile in order to be reinstated on Etsy.com.

“The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.”(Isaiah 40:8) Although saddened to be removed from Etsy due to our beliefs, we are thankful as we know the Word of God shared on Etsy will continue to do it’s work in the hearts of those who read it. In Isaiah 55:11 God promises that His Word will not return void! We hope and pray this encourages Christians across the globe to body proclaim the good news of salvation and take a stand for righteousness! “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.” Matthew 5:14
Amen!! In an age of liberalism and compromise among professing Christians, this is such an encouragement to be bold for Christ.
We must stand boldly against corporations who have so much animosity towards God, and support more bold, brave businesses like Garlands of Grace! They are just about to release their new fall collection, whether or not you feel led to head cover, you’ll probably still love their beautiful and stylish head coverings and headbands.
We cannot love the world, nor the things of this world, such as comfort, peer approval, or popularity, and love the living God at the same time, and it’s wonderful to know this solid Christian business is operating with so much integrity.
