Comedienne Tiffany Haddish Claims She Is Afraid to Have Children As They Will Be “Hunted and Killed” By Police

Tiffany Haddish, an actress and comedienne known for supporting roles in various films and shows, declared this week that she has avoided having children who look like her—dark-skinned—for fear that they will be “hunted or killed” by police.

“I’m a little older now and people are always like, ‘You gonna have some babies? When are you gonna have some babies? You gonna drop some babies?’” Haddish said during a YouTube interview with professional basketball player Carmelo Anthony. “There’s a part of me that would like to do that, and I always make up these excuses, like, ‘Oh, I need a million dollars in the bank before I do that.’ ‘I need this, I need that.’”

“But really, it’s like, I would hate to give birth to someone that looks like me, and then, knowing that they’re gonna be hunted or killed,” she went on. “Like, why would I put someone through that?”

Haddish told Anthony that her opinions are largely informed by the experiences of two black men she knew personally who were killed by police.

White people, Haddish argued, “don’t have to think about” being killed by police.

“It’s time to talk about that,” she continued, “and how we have to come together as a community and work as a unit and maybe we don’t all agree on the same things, but we need to just find some common ground and move forward as human beings.”

“We’re all trying to figure out: how do you fix this” she declared. “How do you stop this? And all I can think is we have to figure out how to change people’s hearts, and that’s what I’ve been trying to do my whole career.”

It is a common progressive lie that someone’s life is not worth living because they might face adversity. No doubt Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger, a known racist, would be proud of Haddish’s logic. To say nothing of the actual numbers behind black men who are killed by police, the reality of which is far less striking than the perception Haddish has.

We know that the Lord loves and cherishes every single life on earth. There are many ways to address perceived injustice in this world…but refraining from brining precious life into the world out of fear of injustice is a very sad and unproductive approach.
