Despite Apology, Mario Lopez Facing Job Loss for Controversial Comments on Trans Children

Once again, the leftist outrage mob is demonstrating that they are utterly insatiable and will not rest until every opponent is silenced and punished.

Mario Lopez is one public figure who, in spite of his best efforts to redeem himself in the eyes of the outrage mob is learning this the hard way.

As we reported last week, Lopez made huge waves after an interview with Candace Owens in which he dared to state that parents of children who express dissonance from their biological gender as young as three years old should probably consider other avenues before going down the path of “transitioning.”

“If you’re 3 years old and you’re saying you’re feeling a certain way or you think you’re a boy or a girl or whatever the case may be, I just think it’s dangerous as a parent to make this determination then, well, OK, then you’re going to a boy or a girl, whatever the case may be … It’s sort of alarming and my gosh, I just think about the repercussions later on,” Lopez told Owens.

Of course, Lopez’ perfectly reasonable caution regarding allowing a child who still believes in the tooth fairy to make such a massive, life-altering change in his or her young life was immediately decried as hate speech and actor was accused of encouraging bullying and self-harm of transgender children.

We reported:

While Lopez’s initial statements were perfectly rational, the actor caved under the weight of the massive backlash and issued a statement to People magazine recanting his statements.

“The comments I made were ignorant and insensitive, and I now have a deeper understanding of how hurtful they were,” Lopez wrote. “I have been and always will be an ardent supporter of the LGBTQ community, and I am going to use this opportunity to better educate myself. Moving forward I will be more informed and thoughtful.”

In spite of his prompt apology, Lopez reportedly faces losing his job as the host of Access Hollywood before even starting.

“The execs at NBC held an emergency meeting yesterday to discuss Mario’s future with the show because they do not see how they can just let this fly,” an anonymous source told Radar Online, adding that “His apology really meant nothing at all. All it does is solidify that he was aware that his comments were transphobic and hurtful.”

Radar Online reports:

Meanwhile, sources reveal Lopez’s PR team thinks they’re going to “make an example out of him,” and they’re “probably right.”

“He lost a lot of fans from this and there is no way that he could ever really recover them back.”

In contrast, however, Radar Online adds that another anonymous source insists that “Lopez is not on the chopping block at Access Hollywood and will begin production in the fall.”

It appears that only time will tell exactly what repercussions await Lopez for daring to express anything less than celebration and wholehearted affirmation of transgenderism. He’s also learning the hard way that having a weak spine and retracting truthful statements for the sake of appeasing gender theory hysteria doesn’t work out too well in the end.

You’re either with the LGBT bullies or you’re against them. There’s no straddling that fence. Which side are you on?
