Dwayne Wade Praises His Transgender Child As An LGBT Leader After First Red Carpet Appearance

As transgender mania continues to advance in society, celebrities are demonstrating that they—or, more specifically, their children—aren’t immune to the growing trend.

NBA star Dwayne Wade, his wife Gabrielle Union, and their son, who identifies as their daughter now, became the most recent celebrity poster family for transgender acceptance after the child “came out” in a social media post.

Now, “Zaya,” who was born Zion, has made his first red carpet debut and is being hailed as a “voice for the LGBT community.”

“Everyone allow her to re-introduce herself her name is Zaya Wade!” Wade said in an Instagram post on Sunday.

“Last night was Zaya’s first red carpet and we couldn’t have been prouder of how she handled the questions that were asked of her,” Wade continued. “She has emerged as one of the young faces and voices for the LGBTQ+ community. #truthawards.”

According to E! News, the family attended the Better Brothers LA’s Truth Awards together on Saturday night. The award ceremony “highlights the accomplishments of the Black LGBTQ+ community and its allies.”

The trio also appeared on stage together during the awards “to honor a friend,” at which point Wade spoke, recalling when Zion first became “Zaya.”

“When our 8-year-old daughter, Zaya Wade, came home and said she had something to tell us, when she came out to us, as a family, we admitted that weren’t as educated about the LGBTQ+ community as we should have been,” Wade told the audience, adding that he and his wife turned to a “male couple” to help them “navigate the right language to use, the questions to ask, and what to listen for.”

“They also reminded us to make sure Zaya knew her community and felt the love and support inside and outside from home,” Wade continued. “From working closely with Zaya to design her room in our homes to make sure that her most authentic self was represented and that her bedroom felt like her sanctuary. Now, that may seem small, but taking the time to make sure Zaya felt seen and heard as she created her own space for us was key. It was key to Zaya’s comfort and her confidence.”

How incredibly heartbreaking.

While our children’s “comfort” is certainly a priority, it does not outweigh their safety and mental wellbeing, something that caving to transgenderism directly threatens.

Wade and Union will surely continue to march their trophy child around to accrue more “woke” credit, but we can’t help but weep for this and every child whose parents should be protecting them, not sending them down a path of disguising and hating their true, biological selves.
