For all their hollow declarations that they are “pro-science”, the left continually demonstrates that they only accept “science” that affirms their own radical science-defying ideology.

If you are a college professor and would like to lose your job, your tenure, your credibility, and even your access to social media, go ahead and present your clinical findings that contradict social justice warrior talking points.
Ray Blanchard, the groundbreaking psychologist who helped craft the diagnostic and treatment procedures for clinicians dealing with transgenderism, was blocked on Twitter this weekend when a handful of his tweets on the issue were flagged for “hateful conduct”.
This is how Twitter and Facebook both have been silencing any ideas that challenge the left-wing narrative, a fact we know all too intimately here at Activist Mommy.

While there are many people who would beg to differ with Blanchard’s conclusion that sex change surgery is the best treatment for some patients, the fact that Blanchard simply doesn’t happen to think the mutilation and removal of perfectly functioning organs is the best treatment for all patients is sheer anathema to the LGBT mafia.
What really set these tyrants off was Blanchard’s declaration that surgery and other aggressive treatments of gender dysphoria should not be used on children.
You’d think that, in a civilized society, most sensible people would see that there’s nothing at all controversial about warning against life-altering surgery and hormone treatment for children, but alas, welcome to 2019.
Sadly, the left abandoned logic in favor of twisted gender ideology long ago, now we have governments testing such treatments on 8-year-old children, and teen trans activists being surgically castrated.
Studies indicate that, if allowed to experience normal puberty, around 80 percent of children who suffer from gender dysphoria typically revert back to their actual gender, making Blanchard’s statements nowhere near as radical as people seem to think.
(2) Sex change surgery is still the best treatment for carefully screened, adult patients, whose gender dysphoria has proven resistant to other forms of treatment.

“Gender dysphoria is not a sexual orientation, but it is virtually always preceded or accompanied by an atypical sexual orientation – in males, either homosexuality (sexual arousal by members of one’s own biological sex) … or autogynephilia (sexual arousal at the thought or image of oneself as a female),” Blanchard continued in his thorough Twitter thread. “There are two main types of gender dysphoria in males, one associated with homosexuality and one associated with autogynephilia. Traditionally, the great bulk of female-to-male transsexuals has been homosexual in erotic object choice.”
And then, Blanchard committed the ultimate thought crime: he stated that, while he supports reasonable legal accommodations for transgender individuals (such as changing their listed sex on their driver’s license), such individuals should be excluded from areas where their biological gender gives them an unfair advantage:
(6) The sex of a postoperative transsexual should be analogous to a legal fiction. This legal fiction would apply to some things (e.g., sex designation on a driver’s license) but not to others (entering a sports competition as one’s adopted sex).

That last tweet may have been what pushed the leftist hordes over the edge. Shortly thereafter, Blanchard was banned from Twitter:

Thankfully, this injustice did not go unnoticed and many Twitter users expressed their outrage that Blanchard’s unbiased, factual statements were considered “hate speech”.
“Gender dysphoria is in the DSM-5. Despite endless rumor-mongering and misinformation to the contrary, it *is* considered a mental disorder. Maybe it shouldn’t be! But it’s beyond insane to suspend someone for expressing an opinion which lines up with the DSM,” tweeted New York Magazine contributor Jesse Singal. “I have less and less faith that, as a journalist who often writes about science, I will be able to continue using Twitter without getting punished for communicating scientifically accurate information (sic).”
“Anyway, this is part of a larger problem of a complete meltdown, in elite progressive spaces, of the ability to accurately convey science on stories having to do with social justice. Journalism, academia, social media — same story everywhere. It’s a slow-motion disaster,” Singal added.

In response to the uproar, Twitter reexamined its actions and restored Blanchard’s account, issuing this apology:
