Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Janet Woodcock, two of the nation’s top-ranking medical professionals, appeared in a webinar about the so-called “future of healthcare” sponsored by the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, a subtle move furthering the mainstream narrative that “abortion is healthcare.”
On Wednesday, May 5, The Hill hosted “Future of Healthcare: Bold Bets in Health,” an online seminar series featuring Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Woodcock, Acting Commissioner of the FDA, U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek H. Murthy, Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), Finance Committee Subcommittee on Health chairperson, and others. The event was sponsored by the nation’s top abortion provider.
“Once we realize our goal of shots in arms, what’s next on the innovation front?” The Hill asks in a description of the event. “And what policies and new models of care do we need to embrace to make sure these innovations reach everyone?”
According to Live Action, Planned Parenthood’s role as the sole sponsor of the webinar featuring policymakers and government physicians “appears to present a serious conflict of interest.”
In just the last ten eyars, Live Action contends, Planned Parenthood has ended the lives of 3.3 million babies in abortions across the nation—while receiving nearly $6 billion in taxpayer funds. “The organization’s political arm donates millions to the campaigns of politicians,” the pro-life outlet notes, and Sen. Stabenow herslef has been called an “unwavering champion for the abortion giant.”
Regardless of any legitimate healthcare services Planned Parenthood clinics may provide, what kind of “healthcare” organization can say it has ended over 900 lives per day in America alone?
Even the actual health-promoting services Planned Parenthood provides at some clinics have taken a downturn, Live Action continues:
In the last decade, cancer screenings at Planned Parenthood have dropped over 67%, Pap tests have declined nearly 70%, and manual breast exams at Planned Parenthood have fallen 68% in the last decade as well. In addition, only three percent of women of reproductive age in the U.S. even use Planned Parenthood.
As for why Planned Parenthood would be involved in any way with the “future” of healthcare, Live Action suggests one clear reason.
As the webinar focused on telemedicine and new technology that would allow more patients to be treated without ever entering their doctor’s office, the organization that has pressed for increased availability of telemedicine abortions is a likely supporter.
The FDA has required that the abortion pill be dispensed in-person after a physical exam to protect women at increased risk of side effects. With countless offices and clinics shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic, the FDA temporarily suspended the rule and allowed abortion pills to be prescribed without an office visit.
If Planned Parenthood could influence big names in government—such as Dr. Woodcock and Sen. Stabenow—to make the suspension of that rule permanent, it would mean drastically reduced overhead for clinics as well as the ability to reach even more patients. In short, more blood money for Planned Parenthood. Lord help us.
