“Fifty Shades Of Grey” Trilogy Were The Best-Selling Books in the US Over Last Decade

If you want an indication of just how deeply sexual perversion has metastasized in our society, look at the media we not only produce but consume in massive quantities.

According to market research firm The NPD Group, E. L. James’ “Fifty Shades of Grey” trilogy outsold every other book sold in the United States over the past decade.

The vile books, which glorify physically abusive sex and the BDSM lifestyle, sold millions of copies each. The first book, Fifty Shades of Greylanded atop the list with 15.2 million copies sold. The sequel, Fifty Shades Darker, took second place with 10.4 million copies, and Fifty Shades Freed, the third book, took third place with 9.3 million copies.

The books even outsold Suzanne Collins’ young adult phenomenon, “The Hunger Games,” the report adds.

E. L. James became the top-earning author in the world in 2013, the year after the second and third books were published, pulling down an estimated $95 million from the trilogy between book sales and another $5 million for movie rights.

What does it say about this culture and this generation that three pornographic novels were the top three best sellers? What does it say about our standards that this is considered merely a “racy novel,” and not the pornography that it is?

Even some feminist groups have staged protests at screenings of the films inspired by the books, encouraging fans to donate to domestic violence shelters rather than pay for a movie ticket.

The 18th Century sadist the Marquis De Sade, who found himself imprisoned for his profuse and filthy literature championing this abusive fetishC would be quite proud to see that society had eventually degenerated to the point of not only tolerating glorified sexual abuse, but that the public is paying millions of dollars to have their minds perverted by such evil.
