Five babies who died as a result of abortion procedures have been recovered from the Washington, D.C. apartment of a pro-life activist who turned them over to police in the hopes that the babies’ deaths would be investigated.
A member of the group, Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU), surrendered the remains to the D.C. homicide unit although police said at a news conference on Thursday that they did not suspect the babies had been killed in illegal procedures.
However, as Live Action Network detailed, activists believe that the clinic where the remains were discovered might have skirted the Partial Birth Abortion Act and Born Alive Infant Protection Act in the process due to evidence some could have been born alive.
Even if all the procedures were conducted “legally,” however, the babies, more than one of whom was fully intact and most well beyond the age of viability outside the womb, highlight the gross inhumanity of abortion procedures which are happening around the nation every day.
“The discovery of these bodies is horrific and disturbing evidence of the infanticide that may be occurring in this clinic within our nations’ capital, and indicative of the violence happening in abortion facilities nationwide,” noted Live Action founder Lila Rose.
Neonatologist Dr. Kendra Kolb told the organization that “it is beyond horrific and devastating for me as a Neonatologist to see these images, as these babies are representative of the very same patient population that I care for.”
“To then see these discarded aborted babies, and even try to imagine what they went through during these horrific abortion procedures is infuriating and devastating beyond words,” she added.
Live Action posted the horrifying images of the recovered remains to their website, which necessitate a very strong warning as they are gut-wrenching and violent.
Several of the babies’ bodies, including one little girl whose beautiful little eye could be seen open, bore the marks of the violent abortion procedures in the form of severe lacerations along their bodies.
Some were in several parts.
One baby of unknown gender was still fully formed in the amniotic sac, raising questions about whether or not the child was alive when it exited the womb.
Live Action noted that the clinic where the bodies were discovered is attended by Dr. Cesare Santangelo, who reportedly told the organization previously does not provide care to babies born alive in botched abortions.
Planned Parenthood as well as multiple major universities, including one in receipt of federal funding, have been exposed for participating in the deliberate exchange of intact human baby remains for the sake of medical research.
