PRAYERS NEEDED: 8 Of Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse Volunteers Killed In Bus Crash

Eight volunteers with Evangelist Franklin Graham’s organization Samaritan’s Purse have died in a tragic bus crash in Madagascar.

According to a Facebook post from Graham, a total of 34 people died when the bus – headed for a church service in Madagascar – veered off the road and into a ravine in a single vehicle accident.

Africa News quotes one man as stating that, horrifically, his wife and family were among the passengers on the bus who died.

Graham’s Facebook post identifies eight of the victims as volunteer teachers with Samaritan’s Purse’s Operation Christmas Child – a program aimed at delivering shoeboxes filled with necessities, literature and toys to underprivileged children.

Graham added that another 12 of the victims were children who had recently participated in Operation Christmas Child.

“I’m thankful they knew the Savior and are now in His presence,” Graham’s Facebook post reads. “Would you join us in praying for those who are grieving their loved ones and for the many injured?”

Indeed, please say a prayer for the loved ones of those who died in this horrible incident, that God might bring them comfort and healing during their time of bereavement and suffering.

Many people have already responded to Graham’s Facebook post pledging their prayers and support.

While you pray for those affected by this tragedy, please take a moment to also pray for those who will embark on similar journeys in the future.

As Africa News reports, accidents such as this one are sadly not uncommon in Madagascar. In January, for example, 47 people died and 27 were injured after a truck bringing them to a wedding crashed.
