If Netflix thought the initial backlash from the sexually exploitative film “Cuties” was harsh, they haven’t seen anything yet.
According to the Daily Caller, a pair of GOP lawmakers are calling on the U.S. Department of Justice to “take action” against the streaming platform for publishing “explicit depictions of children.”
As we reported late last month, Netflix apologized for promotional images and a description of the film on the site that it claimed were “not representative” of the film.
I just found a trailer for the movie "Cuties" on Netflix and the blatant sexualization of young girls is DISGUSTING. No one wants to see their child dressed and posed like this. WHY IS NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT THIS? #cuties @netflix pic.twitter.com/a4rWey3cuj

Rather than remove the film, however, Netflix simply changed the preview image and the description which, as clips from the now-released film indicate, were rather accurately descriptive of the film.
A highly disturbing clip of the film was shared by an enraged Twitter user who stated that “someone needs to go to jail for this s***!”

Unsurprisingly, the release of the film on Netflix earlier this month sparked a backlash that dwarfed its predecessor.
Now, Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas (R) and Rep. Jim Banks of Indiana (R) are demanding that something is done about the sickening film.
“There’s no excuse for the sexualization of children, and Netflix’s decision to promote the film ‘Cuties’ is disgusting at best and a serious crime at worst,” Cotton told the Daily Caller. “I urge the Department of Justice to take action against Netflix for their role in pushing explicit depictions of children into American homes.”
Banks even suggested that the DOJ should prepare charges against the streaming platform for distributing “child pornography.”
“As a father of young daughters, I find it sickening. Not only is this movie fodder for pedophiles, it encourages very young girls to defy their parents’ wishes and share pornographic images of themselves with strangers,” Banks told the outlet. “Our culture has come a long way in recent years, recognizing the power of television, movies and magazines to affect young girls.”
Last week, Netflix defended “Cuties” as an award-winning “social commentary,” according to the Caller.
“Cuties is a social commentary against the sexualization of young children,” a spokesperson for the streaming service declared. “It’s an award-winning film and a powerful story about the pressure young girls face on social media and from society more generally growing up – and we’d encourage anyone who cares about these important issues to watch the movie.”
Nobody needs to watch young girls performing disgustingly explicit dance moves in order to know that it’s wrong—and anyone who wants to see this vile content is in dire need of a come to Jesus moment!!
Enough is enough, folks. If you haven’t already, now is the time for you to join us and #CancelNetflix. Spread the word; let everyone know that you won’t stand for the brazen sexualization of children a second longer!!
