Planned Parenthood is the country’s leading provider of abortions, helping to facilitate the murder of thousands of unborn children each and every year, making them one of the most efficient killing machines in the history of the world.
And while that in and of itself is grisly, what’s even more gruesome is the fact Planned Parenthood, which is heavily funded with taxpayer dollars, also engages in the sale of body parts culled from the dead children they help abort.
Ever since the undercover videos of these transactions went live on the Internet, there’s been a movement dedicated to making sure that Planned Parenthood is defunded and no longer able to be financially backed with tax dollars.
Many politicians have made promises to get this done on a nationwide scale, but that’s yet to happen. While this is quite frustrating and should inspire pro-life folks to get on the ball and apply some pressure to these officials, there’s some good news to discuss as well.
The state of Iowa defunded Planned Parenthood and something really wonderful happened not long after. They shut down entirely.

Iowa Republican Governor Kim Reynolds supported the legislation and signed it into law. She told the local press, “Well, I am pro-life, and I am pro-family,” and likened abortion to “murder.”
Life News reports that earlier in the year, PPHeartland notified the public that the Quad Cities center would no longer give out contraceptives due to a lack of funding, but stated emphatically that the location would continue to profit off performing abortions.
This week Planned Parenthood announced that the facility would be closing down.
The abortion giant said in a statement, “After nearly two decades [of doing abortions] in the Quad Cities, on Friday, December 29, 2017, Planned Parenthood of the Heartland (PPHeartland) will officially close their Bettendorf location, a move directly resulting from defunding by extreme Iowa lawmakers.”
They did not stop there. The nation’s leading provider of abortions accused GOP lawmakers of being “anti-woman” for allowing taxpayers to decide not to fund the life-ending procedure.
If viewing life as something totally sacred, with each person having intrinsic value due to being the image bearer of God, and believing that murder is wrong is “anti-woman,” what does that make someone who supports the slaughter of innocent little girls in the womb?
According to the initial report by LifeNews, Planned Parenthood raked in nearly $2.7 million in tax dollars per year from the state of Iowa in the form of taxes and grants. The money that was previously going to the abortion mill is now being sent out to community health care facilities and other organizations not involved in abortion.
This is a great step in the right direction, but let’s hope lawmakers at the federal level take notice of the action taken by Iowa and opt to follow suit, snatching away the organization’s tax dollar funding and help bring abortion closer to abolition.
