Janice Dean, Who Lost Both In-Laws Of COVID-19 In Nursing Home, Mocked By Cuomo’s Office

Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, Janice Dean, chief meteorologist for Fox News, wasn’t known for much more than her weather forecasts, cheery persona, and friendly chit-chat with the Times Square crowd on FOX & Friends.

However, after both of her husband’s parents died of COVID-19 in a New York nursing home following a controversial executive order from Governor Andrew Cuomo which forced such facilities to re-admit COVID-positive patients, she’s begun to ruffle some feathers.

The “Mostly Sunny” author, never one to take a hard political stance publicly, has become one of the most outspoken critics of Cuomo’s response to the pandemic and has been almost laser-pointed at his policies regarding nursing homes.

The Daily Wire explains that the Democrat governor reversed his requirement for nursing homes and other long-term care facilities after thousands of death among patients.

On Tuesday, Dean referred to the state’s vaccination rollout as a “disaster” which caught the attention of Cuomo’s office, who lashed out with a low blow about the meteorologist’s credentials.

“It is just another leadership failure from this governor,” she had also said.

“Last I checked, she’s not a credible source on anything except maybe the weather,” Cuomo spokesperson Richard Azzopardi told the Daily Mail.

“Every state has had issues with vaccine distribution because of lack of federal funds but we’re rapidly ramping up distribution and currently have administered more than 60 percent of the vaccines we have,” Azzopardi also stated in defense of his boss.

Dean did not take this sitting down, and was quick to call Azzopardi out for belittling her ability to speak on this issue.

“I can do weather and speak up for my family at the same time,” she wrote in response on Twitter.

She wasn’t alone in ripping the governor’s office for such a haughty response (warning: some language).

And, ever typical for Janice Dean, she was full of love for those who were so quick to come to her defense.
