Josh Duggar, the oldest child of the family that starred in the reality TV show “19 Kids and Counting” was found guilty of downloading and possessing child pornography on Thursday

He is facing up to 40 years in prison and will be sentenced on a later date.

The case also brought new attention to the fact that he confessed to sexually abusing his own sisters as well as a family babysitter when he was a teenager, The Western Journal reports.

A family friend testified in court that Duggar had told her he inappropriately touched girls as young as 5 years old when he was a teenager.

The incident initially came to light in 2015, at which point parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar defended their son, who they say they brought to law enforcement to confess his crimes.

Josh was accused of and reportedly admitted to touching his sisters and the other young woman both over and under their clothes while they were sleeping.

The parents’ defense of their son wasn’t enough to prevent TLC from canceling a sequel to the large family’s show.

Now, Josh Duggar, 33, has been convicted following charges that he downloaded videos of child sexual abuse which included a victim as young as just three months old.

His defense argued that the material, which was downloaded to his work computer at the used car lot he owned, was placed there by a third party, as no material was found on his phone or personal laptop, according to The New York Post.

Prosecutors, who brought forensic investigators to the stand to testify, were able to convince the jury that there was no one else who could have downloaded the material onto his computer.

The jury began deliberations on Wednesday and delivered their verdict on Thursday.
