Kanye West Rails Against Abortion, Porn, and Promotes Abstinence in Wake of “Jesus is King” Release

Kanye West continues to amaze the Christian and secular worlds alike with his radical lifestyle and worldview changes in the wake of the release of his long-awaited album, “Jesus Is King.”

Over the weekend, the rapper, who is known for his previously very vulgar and blasphemous albums like “Yeezus” and “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,” shocked the entertainment industry status quo when he expressed his staunch opposition to abortion and premarital sex according to his Christian values.

The fact that a man like Kanye, who has clearly long been battling demons, is now telling the world that Jesus is King is amazing enough. But Kanye takes it a giant leap further in doing something that so few popular “Christian” artists have the boldness to do: speak out against the evils of the culture they seek to influence without reserve.

Watch:

“Democrats had us voting Democrat for food stamps for years, bro. What you talking about? Guns in the 80s, taking the fathers out of the home, Plan B, lowering our votes, making us abort our children…. I can’t tell y’all how to feel. But what I can tell you honestly is how I feel,” the rapper said in an interview with fellow rapper Big Boy.

He’s not wrong, friends!

It’s no secret that millions of babies are aborted from America’s black community thanks to Planned Parenthood’s vile targeting of under-educated, under-supported black mothers in urban communities and the epidemic of fatherlessness.

While the leftist talking heads would have black Americans remain in the everlasting chains of the victim mentality, Kanye is pointing them to the truth: their worth in Christ!

That’s not all Kanye had to say against the sinful lifestyle he once embraced. Last week, this new brother in the Lord proceeded to speak out against the spiritual destruction of premarital sex and even pornography.

“When collaborating with others on ‘Jesus Is King,’ West set up some lifestyle guidelines that they would have to abide by in order be part of the project,” Kanye said in a Thursday interview with Zane Lowe of Beats 1, according to Billboard. “Yeezy asked others to fast during portions of creating and also not partake in any premarital sex at times, which he knew would receive some blowback once it became public.”

“There were times where I was asking people not to have premarital sex while they were working on the album,” West told Lowe, noting, “When people pray together and fast together, the power is increased.”

This seems very much to be someone who is trying to be the salt and the light.

The 42-year-old explained that he no longer views himself as a “slave” to the music industry, but as a “free” “son of God” spreading the gospel.

“Now that I’m in service to Christ, my job is to spread the gospel, to let people know what Jesus has done for me,” said West. “I’ve spread a lot of things. There was a time I was letting you know what high fashion had done for me, I was letting you know what the Hennessey had done for me, but now I’m letting you know what Jesus has done for me, and in that I’m no longer a slave, I’m a son now, a son of God. I’m free.”

West also revealed to Lowe that he first encountered pornography at just five years old:

“My dad had a Playboy left out at age five and it’s affected almost every choice I made for the rest of my life from age five to now, having to kick the habit. It just presents itself in the open like it’s okay. I stand up and say, ‘You know, it’s not okay.’”

Folks, we can’t understate how huge it is that such a high-profile babe in Christ is making such bold, blunt statements about his relationship with God and today’s grievous socials ills.  He is not only addressing the mass-slaughter of innocent infants, but also pornography and promiscuity, which have become so incredibly commonplace in our culture and have achieved the normalization abortion advocates hope to reach. For Kanye to speak out against them is sure to shock and startle many of his followers and has the potential to fill them with conviction of their sin. Let’s pray it does.

“People said this is going to be horrible for your career,” West said in his interview with Big Boy.

“Did you worry about that?” asked Big Boy. “Man, I fear and love God,” West responded. “When you remove the fear and love of God, you create the fear and love of everything else.”

Wow!

It goes without saying that there have been a great many believers who have expressed apprehension towards Kanye’s newly expressed convictions.

One can’t help but be reminded, however, of King  Nebuchadnezzar in the book of Daniel, a man who was so puffed up with pride he built a massive golden statue of himself for his subjects to bow before and worship—and attempted to kill anyone who refused. Sounds a lot like Kanye in his “Yeezus” phase, other than the death penalty of course.

Instead of rightfully leaving Nebuchadnezzar to fester in his sin, God brought that man down to a humiliating level of brokenness to show His glory. When God had finished His punishment, Nebuchadnezzar himself wrote one of the most incredible passages of Scripture testifying of God’s power and greatness.

And even if you’re the most cynical Christian out there and don’t believe Kanye is genuine, as Paul explained in the book of Ephesians of those who preach the Gospel for their own benefit, there is still reason to glory: “But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.” (Phil. 1:18 NIV)

Let’s thank the Lord for His work in Kanye West’s life and the work He will do in the lives of those he influences. He is mighty to save! As his own lyrics have urged us, let’s keep him in prayer as he has a powerful witness to share with the world:

What have you been hearin’ from the Christians?

They’ll be the first one to judge me

Make it seem like nobody love me

I’m not tryna lead you to Visas

But if I try to lead you to Jesus

We get called halfway believers

Only halfway read Ephesians

Only if they knew what I knew, uh

I was never new ’til I knew of

True and living God, Yeshua

The true and living God

Somebody pray for me
