Missouri Governor Calls For Resignation Of State Senator That Wished For Trump’s Assassination

If you mess up, be prepared to deal with the consequences. That’s not a hard concept for those with a strong sense of personal accountability to grasp. Other folks struggle with it mightily.

Missouri Democratic State Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal falls into the latter camp. She’s heard a number of calls for her to resign after making some horrifying remarks on social media, but she’s digging her feet in the ground and refusing.

As Chappelle-Nadal sees it, there’s no need for her to step aside just because she openly wished for the assassination of President Donald Trump.

“I hope Trump is assassinated!” she shared on Facebook.

Numerous elected officials in her home state called for her immediate resignation, but Chappelle-Nadal has flat-out refused. Of course she hopped on social media once again to make that proclamation.

“I am not resigning. When POC are respected by this WH & they are willing to do real work, I’ll sit down with them. People are traumatized!” Chappelle-Nadal wrote on Twitter.

Because people are traumatized, her solution is that the commander-in-chief should be killed? Who can openly wish for assassination and claim to be such a passionate defender of others?

Apparently Chappelle-Nadal can. Her twisted logic is frightening and disturbing, and her refusal to hold herself accountable is nothing short of mind-numbing. Alas, she can dig her feet in as far as she wants, but it doesn’t sound like she has much of a choice.

As Proud Patriots shares, Missouri Lt. Gov. Mike Parson has informed her that she needs to “resign by September 13 or the state Senate will move to expel her.”

It would be lovely to see Chappelle-Nadal heed the warning and go away quietly, but we have a sneaky suspicion she’ll try to make a bigger spectacle of herself on the way out the door.
