‘Doctors Without Borders’—or Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), as it’s best known—reportedly performs and promotes abortion on a global scale, according to LifeSiteNews!
The organization is known for bringing care to the sick and those in need of healthcare in conditions of all kinds, but underneath the surface, advocates for “safe” abortion.
Check it out:
“MSF boasts about performing abortions where the people have kept legal protection for their unborn children,” says Susan Yoshishara, researcher and writer with the Center for Family and Human Rights (C-Fam).
“Even worse, they do so under the guise of helping to reduce maternal deaths even though medical experts agree what mothers need is better prenatal care, skilled birth attendants, and emergency obstetric care,” Yoshishara told LifeSiteNews.
Dr. Robert Walley, who founded a Canada-based group that provides obstetric care in Kenya, said MSF has become “hooked” on the abortion mindset.
“It was when they changed their policy on abortion a few years back now, that really kind of changed the image in a sense,” he told LifeSiteNews.
MSF first began providing abortions in 2004 and had instantaneous internal issues with the new policy.
MSF’s adviser on sexual and reproductive health, the Geneva-based [Catrin] Schulte-Hillen, said that between “2013 and 2015, only 25 percent to 35 percent of MSF projects that were supposed to provide abortions were actually doing so.”
Common excuses for why staff aren’t performing abortions within MSF, said Schulte-Hillen, range from “there isn’t a need” to “it’s not the role of MSF.” She added that it’s primarily a revelation of the true beliefs of staff, however.
More recently, MSF began to place a greater emphasis on providing abortions within the organization. In 2012, MSF more formally adopted the belief that “safe abortions” were a critical service that the organization needed to provide, and the organization began printing a guide to obstetrics and newborn care that included instructions for performing both medical and surgical abortions.
MSF has become a vocal opponent of the Mexico City Policy, which President Trump reinstated upon his election to the Presidency. The Mexico City Policy bars federal dollars from funding abortions on a global scale.
MSF says it “does not have a political position on abortions,” but it issued statements in January, February, March, April, and May warning the “global gag rule” will “lead to more deaths” and “endanger the lives of women.”
Schulte-Hillen was not available for comment when LifeSiteNews reached out, nevertheless it’s important for Americans to know when organizations such as MSF—which isn’t known for providing abortions—begin to do so.
Just the same, all the more reason to seek out similar organizations that promote pro-life policies. The nature of care for women and children’s health is significantly greater when caregivers value the sanctity of life and do not perceive pregnancy as a “problem,” or abortion as a “solution.”
