Sadly, Pennsylvania seems to be going the way of nearby states, New York and Virginia, when it comes to abortion. While clearly most state residents don’t support the murder of unborn Down syndrome babies, as evidenced by the recently passed bill in the Pennsylvania State Senate to protect these precious lives, their governor feels differently.
If the State Senate is made up of elected officials who represent the voice of the people, you would think Governor Tom Wolf would be interested in acting according to their will but that is not the message Wolf is sending with his decision to veto a bill that passed the state Senate last month.
The Democratic governor of Pennsylvania, Tom Wolf, is vetoing legislation that would have made it illegal for women to have abortions because their unborn babies test positive for Down syndrome.
Wolf rejected the Republican-backed bill that had just passed the state Senate on Thursday, making it clear he would not approve the proposal, according to a report from the Associated Press.
“There is no evidence that this bill is needed in Pennsylvania,” the governor said in a statement. “I have significant concerns that enforcement of this legislation would upend the doctor-patient relationship and impede on patient confidentiality.”
Jeanne Mancini, president of the pro-life organization March for Life, called Wolf’s decision “disturbing.”
Disturbing news out of PA yesterday. Every life is a gift, regardless of disability. This is eugenics. https://t.co/SByZuZBlLC

Governor Wolf does not see a “need” for this legislation in Pennsylvania? He sees no need to protect innocent unborn babies from being murdered just because they test positive for a genetic condition? That truly is disturbing. Surely, it is wrong to murder all babies in the womb, full stop. But to go to such great lengths to make sure that babies who will be different abled can be aborted for this reason alone is particularly sick.
Governor Wolf is obviously not concerned with what his constituents want. The bill passed in the state Senate which should have been a message to Wolf that Pennsylvanians want protection for babies with Downs Syndrome seeing as how the state Senators are elected by the people to represent them.
We shouldn’t expect Wolf, a Democrat, to be in favor of protecting human life in the womb. Just last month he made a vow to veto a “heartbeat” bill state Senators were creating.
“I will veto any abortion ban that is put on my desk. The latest bill, a six-week abortion ban, defies all practical understanding of modern women’s health care. These policies run counter to the notion of individual freedom and lack a sound scientific basis. Further, as we have seen in other states, these policies are detrimental to efforts to attract and retain businesses, entrepreneurs and workers,” his statement said.
Governor Wolf is most definitely pro-abortion.
The Democrats party is the party of death. It’s unfathomable how any human can rationalize the killing of an unborn baby by equating it to “healthcare” for women. Governor Wolf is a typical leftist politician whose goal is to pander to the abortion industry and is in no way concerned with human life. He’s a hypocrite for pretending to be concerned with healthcare while at the same time refusing to sign legislation that would save lives, much less end the murder of all unborn babies in his state.
It is not only the job of the State legislators to act according to the job they were voted in to do, but it is the job to protect the lives of the innocent. They weren’t even trying to save all babies, just those diagnosed with Down in the womb. Governor Wolf is defying the laws of God, as are all pro-abort politicians and compliant bystanders who continue to allow the bloodshed by placing man-made law over the divine.
