Parents Furious After Maryland History Lesson Equating Trump To Hitler and Stalin

Conservative parents in Towson, Maryland are demanding answers after it was discovered that a Loch Raven High School teacher showed their children a slide equating President Donald Trump with genocidal dictators Adolf Hitler and Josef Stalin.

A photo of the slide surfaced, presumably taken by a student in class, showing a picture of President Trump above images of a swastika and hammer-and-sickle.

Above the picture of Trump read the words: “Wants to round up a group of people and build a giant wall,” while “been there” and “done that” appear under the pictures of the swastika and hammer-and-sickle, respectively. In the side margin of the slide reads: “Oh that’s why it sounds so familiar!”

According to Fox45, parents want to know if the slide was part of a history lesson or if the teacher was spreading political ideology.

The parents, who asked to stay anonymous for fear of of negative repercussions for their children at the high school, told Fox45 that the image was put up in class on Wednesday.

“The biggest problem is pushing an agenda on 16-year-olds,” one parent said. “My understanding is that was just put up and it was left there for everyone to see the whole day.”

“I was told that by another student who said the topic in that class was supposedly world leaders shunning other groups out.” the parent added. “I said, ‘Is this part of the curriculum?'”

“This slide was used as part of a lesson in an AP History course,” a spokesperson for Baltimore County Public Schools told Fox45. “The topics being discussed included World Wars and the attempts by some leaders to limit, or prevent migration, into certain countries. In isolation and out of context with the lesson, the image could be misunderstood.”

“In our Advanced Placement (AP) classes, which are college level courses, we expect and encourage analysis and discussion around historical and current events even if they are considered controversial,” the spokesperson continued. “This lesson was not intended to make a political statement. If a student has concerns when discussing a controversial issue, schools have the tools to address the concern and support the student.”

“To even imply that our president is in any way a Nazi or a communist is outrageous,” said Baltimore County councilman Wade Kach, who represents the part of Towson where Loch Raven High is located.

“Is this curriculum for AP? Is it a purchased curriculum? Is it one that our school system wrote? Where is it coming from? I just think that it’s irresponsible to post anything like this in a classroom,” Kach stated.

“High schools are not supposed to take advocacy positions against presidents,” said Dr. Richard Vatz, a professor at Towson University. “They’re supposed to explain how political advocacy works, if that’s what they’re doing. They’re certainly not to take a position that the president is comparable to these awful leaders of the past.”

Fox45 noted that Vatz, who teaches a course on political persuasion at Towson, said the image would be “absolutely” appropriate if, in fact, “the context is acceptable.”

Given the explanation from the district, however, Vatz says he questions whether or not the context in which the slide was shown was appropriate:

“If they’re not presenting that as clear, outrageous argument against the president of the United States, then they’re not doing their job. It’s really contemptible. But I want to say it’s conceivable the teachers are doing a better job than has been communicated to you.”

Fox45 added that they were “told the teacher did not create that slide, but we’re still waiting to hear back on where it came from and whether it was part of the curriculum.”

It would be incredibly refreshing if it turned out that this slide was presented to students as an example of hideously inaccurate leftist logic, but we aren’t counting on it.

Again, folks, is this what we’re funding these schools for? To indoctrinate our children with brainless leftist propaganda?

Don’t put up with it, folks. Evacuate these indoctrination centers!
