The day and age in which we live is one where we see the normalization of things previous generations would’ve laughed hysterically at in utter disbelief had they been told this is the direction our nation would be headed in down the road.
One of the most popular issues that young, “woke” people just adore is the idea that a person can self-identify as the gender of their choice, or, in some extreme cases, can even identify as a totally different species, like a cat or a dog.
To make matters worse, you have public schools — those fine institutions indoctrinating kids by the masses with a big government, liberal agenda — who are encouraging these kids to indulge their mental illness and go right ahead and literally be whatever their precious hearts desire to be.
Well, a group of parents in Delaware have had enough of the insanity, opting to grow a backbone and stand up against the agenda of radical leftists, opposing gender self-identification at the school.
The Washington Times is reporting:
Parents in Delaware, apparently tired of the ridiculousness, took on education bureaucrats and told them, in no uncertain terms — and on the wings of 8,000-plus signed petitions — that a rule allowing kids in grades K-12 to self-identify their sexes without parental permission or even notification, did not meet with their approval.
This is how the system works when it’s working correctly — the parents tell the schools what they want, and the schools abide.
A dysfunctional education system is one in which the schools, also known as The Government, think they know better than parents how to raise the youth, and therefore, demand the caretakers coalesce and cater to whatever whims and regulations that meet their Ivy League-like approval.
When it came to Regulation 225, the so-dubbed “anti-discrimination” rule — the one that said “all students enrolled in a Delaware public school may self-identify gender or race,” with or without mom or dad’s permission — the parents won.
According to the Delaware Family Policy Council, “Students [under this policy] may claim or ‘self-identify’ as the opposite gender at any time and have access to the locker rooms, showers, restrooms, overnight accommodations and any school activity (sports team) that is gender specific.”
As you might imagine, the LGBTQ crowd, the same folks who constantly cry about the need for inclusivity and tolerance, are not at all happy to see common sense and moral decency prevail.
Rep. Debra Heffernan, a Democrat who initially supported this school’s rule back in November said, “Kids deserve to be safe in our schools and without the fear of being bullied because of who they are or what they wear. The Department of Education crafted this anti-discrimination policy at Gov. Carney’s direction so that students can learn in an inclusive environment where they can feel safe and respected. That inclusive environment is essential for all children to learn and grow.”
So apparently, if a school or the parents of the students who attend an educational institution aren’t comfortable with boys having access to girls’ restrooms and locker rooms, that’s a form of bullying. The world has truly gone mad.
Boys, regardless of whether or not they have gender dysphoria, are still biologically male and that includes having raging hormones like testosterone coursing through their bodies. Believe it or not, there’s quite a few transgender boys who still like girls.
Does it not seem dangerous and morally inappropriate to put bigger, stronger, individuals like this with those who might be smaller, easier targets for unwanted advances and possibly worse behavior?
No parent with a moral center and any human decency would want their daughter changing her clothes in front of boys, and that’s precisely what these troubled young men are. Boys. And vice versa for young ladies with this illness.
What really stands out about this story is that the parents actually stood firm and took on the LGBTQ crowd, which is no easy task. Just ask Jack Phillips, the Christian baker from Colorado who has been targeted by the LGBTQ crowd after exercising his rights to not make a gay wedding cake that violates his personally held beliefs.
Hopefully this story will inspire other parents across the country to take up this same fight in their local school districts, recognizing that while the LGBTQ movement might be a formidable adversary in the battle for their children, they can, through prayer and perseverance, be overcome.
