Phil Robertson On Meeting With Trump: “I Pointed Him to Jesus”

Of all the conservative celebrities who comment on current events and pop culture, “Duck Dynasty” patriarch Phil Robertson is undoubtedly one of the most outspoken when it comes to the saving power of the Lord Jesus Christ and the importance of pointing the culture towards Him, always.

This simple and bold commitment to the Gospel was “at the center” of all three meetings he has had with President Donald Trump, Robertson told Brian Kilmeade on Fox News’ “Watters’ World” Saturday night, which Kilmeade was guest-hosting.

“I pointed him to Jesus,” Robertson claimed, Fox News reports. “We talked spiritual matters all three times.”

He also characterized the ideological battles of our day in a very blunt spiritual frame, claiming November’s election, which he said boils down to Christian values vs. Marxist ideals, will bring either “Hell on Earth” or “peace of mind” he said.

“If you look at it logically, viewing it through a spiritual lens, you’ve got the Devil on one hand. You’ve got Jesus on the other,” Roberston told Kilmeade.

“And those two forces are coming together. And if you punch the wrong button and go with the wrong person, there’s either Hell on Earth or there’s peace of mind,” he explained.

“Jesus? Peace of mind. Karl Marx and his adherents? Hell on Earth. That’s where we are.”

Earlier in the week, Trump told Fox News correspondent-at-large Geraldo Rivera that his presumptive Democratic rival, former Vice President Joe Biden was “against the Bible” and  “against God.”

The Biden campaign, which as we’ve reported is working hard to brand the pro-late-term-abortion candidate as a devout Catholic, hit back by declaring that “Joe Biden’s faith is at the core of who he is; he’s lived it with dignity his entire life, and it’s been a source of strength and comfort in times of extreme hardship” through a spokesman who spoke with Fox News.

Robertson is right.

This is not just a political battle, and this is not about Trump, at the end of the day. POTUS is flawed and far from a deeply devout Christian. He has, however, chosen a very significant side on an ideological battle that truly is, at the end of the day, about good vs. evil.
