A New York-based artist has launched an emoji pack called ‘Ooti the Uterus,’ the proceeds from which will go towards Planned Parenthood.
According to HuffPost, which – judging by its mushy puff piece praising the emoji pack – has totally missed the irony here, the pack launched this Thursday and features 26 stickers depicting a cartoon uterus and a bonus pink vagina hat, a la the Women’s March.
“Ooti is an expressive uterus in shades of millennial pink,” the website for ‘Ooti the Uterus’ reads. “Ooti’s here so we can celebrate this amazing reproductive organ as well as support the fantastic health services Planned Parenthood provides.”
Oh, really? Since when did “fantastic health services” include tearing babies apart and scraping clean/perforating uteruses like Planned Parenthood does during botched abortions?
Did no one involved in the creation or promotion of this emoji pack stop and think about the irony of it all?
Evidently not, judging by HuffPost’s declaration of “now that’s an app we can get on board with.”
By the looks of it, ‘Ooti the Uterus’ has just launched and has yet to pick up any major steam.
In other words, it’ll be a while before Planned Parenthood can stop selling baby parts and survive on checks from ‘Ooti the Uterus.’
The app has already garnered some support from liberals – who are also missing the incredible irony – though.
