Pop Star Demi Lovato Comes Out as “Pansexual,” Attracted To “Anything, Really”

Pop star of Disney fame Demi Lovato has publicly professed to be a “pansexual” who is attracted to “anything, really.”

Lovato, 28, made the admission during an interview on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, telling Rogan she is attracted to men, women, and anything in between and described herself as “so fluid.”

“I’m so fluid now, and a part of the reason why I am so fluid is because I was, like, super closeted off,” she said, referring to her Christian upbringing in Texas.

“You mean sexually fluid?” Rogan asked the former Disney tween pop sensation. “You like girls? You like boys?”

“Yeah, anything, really” Lovato responded.

Lovato added that she had “heard someone call the LGBTQIA+ community the alphabet mafia” and said, “That’s it! That’s what I’m going with.”

“I’m part of the alphabet mafia and proud,” Lovato said.

Lovato told Rogan that she first discovered her attraction to women when she was a young child watching Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair kiss in the 1999 teen drama “Cruel Intentions.”

“I felt a lot of shame because growing up in Texas as a Christian, that’s very frowned upon,” she explained. “Any attraction that I ever had toward a female at a young age, I shut it down before I even let myself process what I was feeling.”

Lovato’s determination to identify with the so-called “alphabet mafia” pushed her to break off her engagement with actor Max Ehrich. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lovato said she realized she was “just too queer” to marry a man.

“Regardless if drama is happening or not, I am too gay to marry a man right now,” she told the magazine. “I don’t know if that will change in 10 years and I don’t know if that’ll never change, but I love accepting myself.”

“I’ve always known I was hella queer,” she added, “but I have fully embraced it.”
