If there’s anything San Franciscans know how to do, it’s protest. Typically, they do so for any old progressive cause du jour. But it appears that the sheer hypocrisy of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who is not only the top-ranking Democrat in the nation but their own personal congresswoman, visiting a Pacific Heights salon in her home district despite California’s strict coronavirus orders, has sparked plenty of outrage as well.
Protesters this week gathered peacefully outside the Speaker’s home to express their frustration, also decorating the tree outside the residence with hair dryers and curling irons.
“Protesters have gathered in front of Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco home and are stringing up curlers and blow dryers on a tree after a video surfaced of Pelosi getting her hair done indoors/maskless at a SF salon,” The San Francisco Chronicle’s Jessica Christian wrote on Twitter, The Daily Wire reported.

None of these demonstrators in front of Nancy Pelosi’s home are salon owners or workers. They’ve all described themselves “angry salon customers” who want to get their hair and nails done @sfchronicle pic.twitter.com/fVMVM2Aajl

“Demonstrators have formed a hand-holding circle around a tree with blow dryers and hair curlers hanging in front of Nancy Pelosi’s SF home,” Christian added. “The tree of blow dryers and curlers has been decorated with an American flag and dubbed the Freedom Tree by protestors in front of Nancy Pelosi’s home.”

As we and countless others reported this week, security footage of Pelosi visiting a salon in defiance of state coronavirus orders was leaked to Fox News this week, sparking outrage on both sides of the aisle over her sheer hypocrisy.
In a phone interview with Fox News on Tuesday, salon owner Erica Kious shared details of Pelosi’s visit.
“One of the stylists who rents a chair from me contacted me Sunday night,” Kious said, providing the news outlet with a screenshot of the text message.
“I’ll be there at 2:45 tomorrow. Pelosi assistant just messaged me to do her hair,” the stylist tells Kious, to which she simply responds, “Pelosi?”
“I was like, are you kidding me right now? Do I let this happen? What do I do?” Kious told Fox News, explaining that she “can’t control” what her stylists do if they rent chairs from her, as “they’re not paying” at this time.
“It was a slap in the face that she went in, you know, that she feels that she can just go and get her stuff done while no one else can go in, and I can’t work,” Kious told Fox, adding that she “can’t believe” the speaker didn’t have a mask on.
Fox carefully noted that, from the footage, it appeared as though Pelosi had some kind of covering around her neck.
“We’re supposed to look up to this woman, right?” Kious went on. “It is just disturbing.”
