Earlier today, we shared a story about a video from Project Veritas where engineers from Twitter essentially admitted to shadowbanning people for discussing God, guns, Trump, and other conservative topics, simply because they don’t agree with people who hold that particular worldview.
For those who are unaware of what shadowbanning is, it’s when Twitter removes someone and their content from public view without informing the individual they were banned. These folks will continue posting their content, wondering why no one is interacting with their posts, unaware of the fact that no one can see it.
Our very own Activist Mommy, Elizabeth Johnston, has been a victim of Twitter’s Orwellian censorship, having received numerous tweets from followers who shared they hadn’t seen much of the content she posts in their timelines.
Twitter is shadow banning me. 14% of twitter users can’t see my tweets. Twitter has deemed my tweets “offensive” or “hate speech”. They’ve down-ranked my account so it’s very hard to grow my following here, even though I have 475k on FB. 🙄#Shadowbanned #snowflakes #FreeTwitter pic.twitter.com/xIilVWkB7m

Ive been following you since i started my account, i never see your posts in my feed. Ever!

Ha! Interesting. Wow, so offensive, right!? Hey @jack @Twitter: Why is this quote marked as sensitive…”Truth is hate to those who hate the truth.” #snowflakes #Shadowbanned https://t.co/vXbqSUns72

I scrolled for a while before I found one marked sensitive. It was a meme you tweeted on Dec. 28, "Truth is hate to those who hate the truth."

Your tweets are never on my feed. This is the second since I started to follow you .

What’s really infuriating about this situation is that the standards being applied to Christians and conservatives are not being equally applied to liberals.
For example, check out the following tweet from actress Rosie O’Donnell, which accuses Trump of child rape, uses abusive language and profanity, and promotes untruth, all of which are violations of Twitter’s rules, yet the post is still up.
TRUMPS HISTORY OF CHILD RAPE IS NOT PROPAGANDA –
he raped ivanka – he is a sexual predator and u r a troll – so fuck off as I block u— ROSIE (@Rosie) December 17, 2017
So @Rosie can tweet this, which is a clear violation of Twitter rules, but my tweets (which never include profanity or threats or targeted harassment)are shadow banned by Twitter and marked “sensitive material”?? Sick double standard. 😡 #shadowbanned #FreeTwitter #activistmommy https://t.co/LBGHBHTTDw

So it’s perfectly acceptable for Rosie to go off the rails and not be banned, but if someone dares to express their love for God or their disagreement with homosexuality, or their support for the current sitting president, that’s ban worthy?
This isn’t the only experience Johnston has had with the corrupt censors at Twitter. When she went toe-to-toe with Teen Vogue over their promotion of an anal sex guide for teenagers, the social media platform banned her.
PJ Media reported on this incident:
This one falls under “too stupid to believe,” but it’s actually true. Twitter has banned writer Elizabeth Johnston, who writes at “The Activist Mommy,” for her war of words with Teen Vogue editor Phillip Picardi.
Not only has Twitter banned her, but YouTube will not allow her video commentaries to be monetized. While Johnston’s posts and views are controversial to some, none of what she has to say is new. Her views on homosexuality come from the best-selling book in the world — the Bible. The tweet that got her booted was a little salty and perhaps not the best tactic to use for persuasion, but it wasn’t any more obscene than the Teen Vogue article.
After Picardi okayed a guide to anal sex for teen girls in a recent issue, parents everywhere were understandably upset and tweeted their concerns. Picardi’s response was to give them the middle finger while kissing a man.
In conclusion, here's my only reply I'll be giving to any of the messages. 🌈 pic.twitter.com/KiFjVqLlH3

So why did Johnston get banned? All because of her usage of the word “sodomite” instead of the pre-approved word choices of “gay” and “anal sex.”
This is precisely the sort of mindset Orwell warned us of in 1984, which was supposed to be a cautionary tale about the dangers of fascistic big government, but the left seems to have adopted it as their official playbook.
If Twitter is going to claim to be a place where people can connect, share information, and have open dialogues about the issues of the day, then they need to actually practice what they preach and allow freedom of speech to be their guiding principle.
Ideas were meant to be challenged and it’s through the battlefield of ideas, where our beliefs duke it out in an epic war of worldviews that people either see the light of truth and change their perspective or get driven deeper into the trenches of their currently held belief system.
Without freedom of speech, this is not possible and our culture stagnates.
If Twitter wants to continue using arbitrary rules for monitoring speech, they need to apply their standards equally, meaning liberals need to be placed under scrutiny for violating their policies and receive the same disciplinary actions.
Unfortunately, that’s not likely to happen since Twitter is a leftist company with a specific agenda to push.
