Sen. Lindsey Graham: Trump Is “Ready To Move on,” Rebuild GOP, Challenge Radical Dems

Voices from within the Republican Party are reporting that former President Donald Trump is ready to “move on” and continue improving the party to challenge the increasingly radical Democrats that have gained a majority in Congress.

According to The Washington Times, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) had a phone call with the former president over the weekend during which Trump expressed his eagerness to work at putting Republicans back in control at Capitol Hill.

“He’s ready to move on and rebuild the Republican Party and is excited about 2022,” Sen. Graham said on Fox News Sunday, nicknaming Trump’s revival strategy “Trump plus.”

“We need to unite the party. ‘Trump plus’ is the way back in 2022,” Graham said. “We can’t do that without Donald Trump.”

Trump and his loyalists within the party may have an internal struggle ahead of them, however, as the party is currently split between those who wish to unite under Trump and those who want to move past him and connect to voters with a new strategy altogether.

The Washington Times reports:

“There needs to be some give from the GOP establishment, or this is going to get really, really bad,” pollster Sean Trende said at a recent forum of the American Enterprise Institute.

Indeed, it has been a difficult dance on Capitol Hill, where newly elected House members have declared that their allegiance is to Mr. Trump, not the Republican Party.

“The party is his. It doesn’t belong to everybody else,” said Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, a fierce Trump loyalist.

Sen. Marco Rubio, Florida Republican, said Mr. Trump “remains the most popular Republican in the country.” But asked about a Trump candidacy in 2024, Mr. Rubio replied, “We’re talking about things that may never happen.”

Mr. Trump ultimately will have to answer the question of what happens next for the Republican Party.

Folks, whether it’s under the leadership of Donald Trump or another Republican or someone else entirely, we must reclaim this nation from the radical left. We must work to stand against the culture of death the Democratic Party is rapidly enshrining into law. We will never achieve any of this, however, without the mercy of God on this fallen nation.
