“Squad” Member Rep. Ayanna Pressley Says “There Needs to Be Unrest In the Streets”

The least prominent member of the notorious “Squad” of Democratic Socialists in the US House of Representatives, Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) appears to have wanted to confirm the most cynical suspicions about the political aims of her and her cohorts’ time in public office.

She just fully advocated for more “unrest in the streets” following months of the very same in many of America’s major cities, which have resulted in millions in property damage, tens of thousands of arrests and at least 29 deaths.

This is how she thinks that change can be affected?

Pressley, who makes up one-fourth of the “Squad” along with Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), gave this hot take to MSNBC’s “AM Joy” on Friday.

“This is as much about public outcry, organizing and mobilizing and applying pressure so that this GOP-led Senate and these governors that continue to carry water for this administration, putting American people in harm’s way, turning a deaf ear to the needs of our families and our communities – hold them accountable,” Pressley declared.

“Make the phone calls, send the emails, show up,” she continued. “You know, there needs to be unrest in the streets for as long as there’s unrest in our lives, and unfortunately, there’s plenty to go around.”

Naturally, these comments attracted accusations that the congresswoman had gone “unhinged.”

Pressley remains the sole member of the “Squad” who has not yet secured a primary win in their respective deep-blue districts for November’s general election. Massachusetts’ primary election is on September 1st.

Like many of the Democratic Party’s more radical members, Pressley doesn’t even seem to be trying to hide the fact that the left is leveraging the violent, lawless riots to boost their own political narratives.
