Super Bowl champion Van Jefferson enjoyed more than just a big football victory on Sunday after he rushed away from his team’s victory celebrations to be with his wife, who delivered his baby son just hours after the Los Angeles Rams won the big game.

Jefferson’s wife and high school sweetheart, Samaria Jefferson, was due February 17 but, determined to be in the stands with the couple’s daughter, was rushed out of the stadium on a stretcher after going into labor, CBN News reported.

According to Mediaite, Jefferson followed immediately after the final whistle, stopping only to gather up his 5-year-old daughter, to be with his wife while she delivered.

The sweet moment he found out was captured on camera before he rushed off:

Later that night, Jefferson posted an elated picture of himself with his new baby boy, on what SportsCenter described as a “historic” night.

Now here is a man who certainly has his priorities straight! Praise the Lord for new life and for such a loving and dedicated couple.
