Target Pulls Book That Warns Against Transgenderism After One Twitter User Complained

Target is doing its part to ensure that mainstream society devolves into a dystopian leftist echo chamber, one book at a time.

According to a Thursday tweet, the $80 billion corporation will no longer sell “Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters,” a controversial book by Abigail Shrier.

“I think the trans community deserves a response from [Target] as to why they are selling this book about the ‘transgender epidemic sweeping the country’ Trigger warning: transphobia,’ wrote the complainant according to a screenshot shared by another Twitter user.

“Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. We have removed this book from our assortment,” Target said in response to a single Twitter user who identifies as transgender and apparently asked the retailer to consider pulling the book.

Shrier herself learned that the perennially pro-LGBT retailer pulled the book, denouncing the decision in a tweet later that evening.

“Target.com just made my book disappear,” Shrier wrote. “Does it bother anyone that Woke activists and spineless corporations now determine what Americans are allowed to read?”

In stark contrast to the lone Twitter user—who locked down their tweets after their request caught Target’s attention—hordes of individuals reminded Target of just how important Shrier’s book is in light of skyrocketing rates of gender dysphoria among young girls.

The book, which remains the #1 best-seller in Amazon’s “LGBT demographic studies” category, unpacks the phenomenon of transgenderism as a social contagion that has skyrocketed particularly among young girls.

“Until just a few years ago, gender dysphoria—severe discomfort in one’s biological sex—was vanishingly rare,” reads the book’s description on Amazon. “It was typically found in less than .01 percent of the population, emerged in early childhood, and afflicted males almost exclusively.”

Now, the description continues, we are seeing the mass victimization of “girls who had never experienced any discomfort in their biological sex until they heard a coming-out story from a speaker at a school assembly or discovered the internet community of trans ‘influencers.'”

“Unsuspecting parents are awakening to find their daughters in thrall to hip trans YouTube stars and ‘gender-affirming’ educators and therapists who push life-changing interventions on young girls,” the description continues, “including medically unnecessary double mastectomies and puberty blockers that can cause permanent infertility.”

As Shrier’s book elaborates, this is an epidemic, and it is claiming our nation’s girls en masse. Their health and well-being, however, clearly do not matter to woke corporate sycophants like Target.

If you appreciate the work we are doing to fight the leftist assault on our values, please consider a small donation to help us continue. Thank you so much!
