Although Netflix is a household name and has revolutionized streaming at-home media, it is outranked in popularity by three pornography sites.

Just let that sink in for a moment — although Netflix is used by 75 million people across the nation and is one of the primary means through which Americans consume media and yet not just one, but three pornography websites are more frequently visited.

Weep for our country, folks. And pray for deliverance.

Tré Goins-Phillips from Faithwire shared the story earlier this week:

At the height of the coronavirus pandemic, Netflix users in the U.S. — of which there are around 75 million — spent a little more than three hours per day on the streaming platform. Even at that, three pornography sites are currently performing better than Netflix.

According to numbers collected by the analytics site Similarweb, three major smut websites now rank higher than the platform housing the most original content of any streaming service currently available on the internet.

He explains that pornography is undoubtedly one of the leading issues plaguing our nation, if not the leading issues causing detrimental harm to society.

A new peer-reviewed study published in the Journal of Health Communication found an astounding 84.4% of male teenagers and 57.1% of female teens have viewed pornography, which often leads to decreased self-esteem, increased propensity toward sexual aggression, greater loneliness, lower overall satisfaction with life, a decline in relationship quality, and poorer mental health, among other things.

What’s more, as our readers will no doubt be aware, the prominence of pornography on the internet has come with a host of grievous concerns of exploitation and criminal abuse, ranging from widespread child pornography, sex exploitation, and coercion.

As PornHub, one of the websites that outranks Netflix, has been accused of not only hosting, but profiting from illegal content ranging from child exploitation material to abuse porn to material featuring sex trafficking victims, the DIY porn-for-pay website, OnlyFans, has been used by countless minors who evaded the website’s 18+ age verification system using fake IDs.

Pornography is detrimental to those who use it and those featured in it, and it is a rot and cancer upon our society, and it is actually more popular among American internet users than Netflix, which isn’t exactly above reproach.

Pray that the Lord would break the nation’s bonds.
