Twitter Suspends Ex-Muslim Anti-Female Genital Mutilation Activist Shazia Hobbs

Shazia Hobbs, a well-known ex-Muslim and anti-female genital mutilation (FGM) activist, has been suspended indefinitely from Twitter – the latest in a string of dissenting voices to be silenced on the platform.

Hobbs, who lives in Scotland, discussed her suspension with conservative news outlet Breitbart, stating, “it’s absolutely disgusting.”

“There was no reason given. Twitter would not tell me what tweets were in violation of their rules. They said it was because of harassment. All I tweet about is the rape of Pakistani children by Pakistani men.”

What Twitter has done here cannot be understated. They’ve shut down one of the few prominent ex-Muslim voices speaking out against the sexual abuse of children that appears to be so rampant in Islamic culture.

They’ve suppressed a critic of Islam that cannot be labelled a “white supremacist” or “racist” for her words, siding with those of strong Muslim faith who wish to see dissenters like her be silenced.

“I get the biggest amount of hate from Pakistani men and ‘feminazis’ who tell me I’m ‘fuelling the far-right,'” she further stated to Breitbart.

“I’m trying to put a stop to these harmful practices.”

According to a Daily Record article from 2015, Hobbs has written extensively about the impact her Islamic upbringing had on her.

Hobbs was born to a Pakistani Islamic father and white mother in Scotland. Around that time, her father’s first, Pakistani-born, wife came to live with them in Scotland.

By Western standards, the living arrangement was very odd but it was typical for an Islamic society, with both women being pregnant by Hobbs’ father at times.

The Daily Record also quotes Hobbs as stating that her father was very controlling, preventing her from socializing with other children.

Hobbs was also ostracized in the Muslim community because of her status as mixed race.

“At primary school, where all the other children were white, we were accepted,” she stated of herself and her two full siblings.

“But when we went to secondary school, there were a lot of other Asian [as Muslims are called in Britain] girls who would call me names. A lot of the Pakistani girls wouldn’t accept me because I had a white mother.”

“As far as I was concerned, I was Pakistani but that’s not how others in the Pakistani community saw it – to them, I would always be the child of a white woman.”

This is who Twitter feels the need to ban – a woman able and prepared to provide real insight into the racism and child abuse rampant in the Muslim community.

Yet the social media platform has no issue hosting the opinions of Linda Sarsour – a woman who literally once tweeted that she wishes she could take Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s, another ex-Muslim critic of Islam, vagina away.

Sarsour even once called for jihad against the American government and told Muslims they have no need to assimilate into Western culture.

Yeah, but Shazia Hobbs is the real villain here.
