This is the pandora’s box that has been opened by widespread acceptance of sexually deviant behavior.
Just last month, California decriminalized the act of willfully exposing a sexual partner to the HIV virus with the insane reasoning that it might actually increase testing rates.
With just the same level of backward, twisted logic, it appears Britain might do the exact same thing with the heinous crime of looking at child pornography.
The irony is that it was suggested by the UK’s top Child Protection Officer, chief constable Simon Bailey.
The Daily Mail reports:
Paedophiles should not face jail for looking at pornographic images of children unless they are a physical threat to youngsters, says Britain’s most senior child protection officer.
Officers should instead focus on the most dangerous offenders who have access to youngsters or are directing abuse online, said chief constable Simon Bailey.
Taking a stance he acknowledged would horrify many, the grandfather-of-two said lower level offending should be decriminalised and dealt with through counselling and rehabilitation.
Mr Bailey, chief constable of Norfolk Constabulary and lead on child protection at the National Police Chiefs Council, said an increase in reporting of sexual abuse – including historical cases – has led to the policing system reaching ‘saturation point’.
Apparently, the British police now cope with so many reports of child pornography that Mr. Bailey feels it would be more effective to stop charging these adults as the criminals they are and instead “rehabilitate” them to somehow…stop more pedophiles?
What about all the children who were exploited, imprisoned, and tortured in the process of making such pornography?
When anyone views child pornography, they are wilfully witnessing a crime in progress. Sexual abuse of a child is a disgusting, vile crime and by reducing the consequences for viewing such heinous media, there is absolutely no way that wouldn’t increase the market for it.
There are people out there producing child pornography who are already unphased by the current crimes one might be charged with for possessing it, much less making it.
This is exactly what happens when you view individuals as victims of their own desires rather than potential predators of young children. The pedophile apologists have been hard at work for decades trying to convince the world that they can’t help who they’re attracted to and shouldn’t be scorned but rather understood and pitied by society.
They don’t need rehabilitation, they need to be kept as far away from little children as possible and punished severely for viewing and possessing any material that was created by exploiting children!
This is absolute madness!
