Thanks to the state’s massive Democrat bloc of legislators, Virginia is on the fast-track to becoming just like its progressive predecessors, New York and California.
Right now, the state is in utter turmoil and there are many bills conservative Virginians must keep on top of, not the least of which being HB145 and SB161.
These bills, introduced in the House and Senate, respectively, seek to “protect” transgender students by decimating the issue of compelled use of preferred pronouns, bathroom and locker room use, sports team participation, and alteration of records to reflect “gender identity” in one fell swoop.
The text of the matching bills reads, in part:
A. The Department of Education shall develop and make available to each school board model policies concerning the treatment of transgender students in public elementary and secondary schools that address common issues regarding transgender students in accordance with evidence-based best practices and include information, guidance, procedures, and standards relating to:
1. Compliance with applicable nondiscrimination laws;
2. Maintenance of a safe and supportive learning environment free from discrimination and harassment for all students;
3. Prevention of and response to bullying and harassment;
4. Maintenance of student records;
5. Identification of students;
6. Protection of student privacy and the confidentiality of sensitive information;
7. Enforcement of sex-based dress codes; and
8. Student participation in sex-specific school activities, events, and athletics and use of school facilities.
B. Each school board shall adopt policies that are consistent with but may be more comprehensive than the model policies developed by the Department of Education pursuant to subsection A.
If these bills advance, it’s all over for Virginia schools, folks.
We’ve already seen what happens when boys are allowed on girl’s teams and in their locker rooms and bathrooms. Boys shatter their biological female competition no matter how long they’ve tortured their bodies with estrogen. Girls become terrified to use locker rooms and bathrooms, opting to risk a bladder infection by going the entire school day without urinating.
We cannot allow this to happen. Here’s what we’ve got to do:
Contact your delegate and state senator: We cannot stand on the sidelines and hope that our government does its job. We have a representative government for a reason, and we must participate in it! Find out who your state delegate and senator is. Email them, send them a letter, or call them personally to urge them not to support HB145/SB161.
Reach out to your child’s teachers, counselors, and school administrators: Let’s face it, parent’s voices don’t mean much when your legislators are leftist Democrats. They will, however, listen to school staff on the front lines of the bills they are looking to foist on the people. Reach out to gym teachers and sports coaches who fear for their female students futures if this bill passes, especially. Speak to Christian teachers whose consciences will not allow them to use a child’s reality-denying pronouns. These are the voices the left wants to silence—don’t let them!
Virginia is looking grim, but it’s far from a lost cause. Rise up, people! Let’s get to work!!
If you appreciate the work we are doing to fight the leftist assault on our values, please consider a small donation to help us continue. Thank you so much!
