The children of Washington DC will spend the month of February being indoctrinated into the Black Lives Matter cult with curriculum modeled after the cultural Marxist movement used to celebrate and teach Black History Month.
The email linked to resources from Teaching Tolerance, a branch of the Southern Poverty Law Center, and a video from DC Area Educators for Social Justice, explaining the importance of “anti-racism” activism.
Among BLM At School’s 13 Guiding Principles are “disrupting the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement” and allowing everyone—even very young children—to “choose their own gender,” as well as “restorative justice” and “dismantling the patriarchal practice” that requires mothers to work at raising their children “even as they participate in justice work.”
“We are committed to disrupting the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and ‘villages’ that collectively care for one another,” the DC Area Educators guide reads, emphasizing “‘our’ children.”
The guide is also available for children themselves, including in a printable coloring book format based around the 13 Guiding Principles.
“Everybody has the right to choose their own gender by listening to their own heart and mind,” reads the coloring book page on transgender affirmation. “Everyone gets to choose if they are a girl or a boy or both or neither or something else, and no one gets to choose for them.”
The coloring book also asks children to discuss how they feel when someone talks about “what girls do” or “what boys do.”
As for teachers, the centerpiece of the Week of Action platform for Black History Month encourages them to reflect on their working relationship with “antiracist pedagogy and abolitionist practice.” Both of these theories, The Daily Wire notes, are rooted in critical race theory (CRT) and operate on the notion that America was founded upon racism.
Teachers were also given a list of self-reflection questions, first among which is whether their school has a good working relationship with local “movement” organizers. Another question asked teachers to consider whether their classroom practices “erase the histories” of their minority students and “prevent [students] from bringing their whole selves into the learning environment.”
Folks, this is something we’ve been warning about for a long time now. This destructive, Marxist social justice cult has spent the past year gaining credibility in the mainstream, and you can bet DC schools won’t be the last to hitch with the radical “justice” mob.
It’s long past time to evacuate our children from these indoctrination centers.
