House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a progressive Democrat and professing Catholic who has been denied communion in the diocese to which she belongs over her emphatic pro-abortion views, refused to condemn a string of violent attacks on pro-life pregnancy centers and organizations in recent weeks.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy tweeted out a video of Pelosi being asked about the spat of violence in recent weeks, declaring it “disgraceful” that his colleague evaded a question from reporters about the terrorist attacks.

“Disgraceful,” he wrote. “Speaker Pelosi just refused to condemn the radical leftist group that has claimed responsibility for a string of violent attacks and threats against pregnancy centers across the nation.”

“Biden’s Department of Justice must stop ignoring these crimes and take action,” he added.

Instead, Pelosi declared that “A woman has a right to choose, to live up to her responsibility,” and that “It’s up to her doctor, her family, her husband, her significant other, and her God. This talk of — politicizing all of this is something uniquely American and not right.”

As we have detailed, a pro-abortion group “Jane’s Revenge” has taken responsibility for a number of attacks on pro-life pregnancy centers in recent weeks.

This week, they declared “open season” on such facilities, threatening acts that won’t be as “easy to clean up” as graffiti and arson.

In a separate clip shared by CNS News, Pelosi also refused to answer whether or not she agrees with Pope Francis and former Pope John Paul II that “abortion is murder.”

“I’m a very Catholic person and I believe in every woman’s right to make her own decisions. Any other questions on another subject because I’m not going to be talking about that?” Pelosi also said.
