Abortion has become the leading cause of death in the United States and many other countries around the world. To put that in perspective, cancer kills around 8 million people per year globally, while abortion took the lives of almost 42 million people in 2018 alone.
Thanks to the death culture that has been established by liberals, we are seeing the complete dehumanization of babies and the devaluation of human life in general. The effects of this have manifested in ugly, gruesome ways, such as the University of Mississippi student who was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend after refusing to have an abortion.
To abortion activists and zealots, abortion isn’t just a right. It seems to be a way of life, and one worth defending with vile words and behavior. A Wichita man has recently pled guilty to making threatening phone calls to an Operation Rescue staff member. Why did he do it? Because, we can only imagine, he has subscribed to the religion of death perpetuated by the left in which anyone who stands for life is not a human worthy of dignity and respect.

According to a press statement issued by U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister, Christopher M. Thompson, 22, admitted to making death threats via phone calls to Operation Rescue, a national pro-life organization headquartered in Wichita, Kansas.
Thompson had originally been indicted in January 2019, on four counts of making threatening communications in August 2018.
During the hearing, Thompson admitted to making three threatening calls to the female Operation Rescue employee in one day, although he had actually made many more.
Thompson made a series of phone calls to the pro-life woman in which he said that he was going to rape her daughters and “murder her and her entire family.” He also led the woman to believe that he knew where she and her family lived and that he had been stalking them around Wichita.
How disturbing is that? Is this man mentally ill or has he been so inundated with the death cult mentality that he truly believes he is doing some kind of good work by threatening this woman and her family?
Thankfully, Thompson was caught and brought to justice before he could actually follow through on his sick threats. He will be sentenced on October 15, 2019, and could face up to 20 years in federal prison and fines up to $250,000.
“We are grateful to the FBI for their quick response and investigation into these frightening death threats, and to the Wichita Police Department and Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan McCarty for working to bring this man to justice,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “I hope Mr. Thompson receives stiff punishment in order to set an example to others that there are severe consequences for making death threats against us and our families. As Christians, we pray that Mr. Thompson can find redemption and forgiveness through Jesus Christ, and a new life free from hatred and violence.”
Mr. Newman’s prayer should be the prayer of every pro-life advocate in the world. Jesus Christ is the only one who can remove the blinders from the eyes of the lost and make them see the error of their ways and thinking.
The liberal ideology overtaking America devalues human life and unless we pray fervently and take a firm stand against this culture of death, extremism from the left will continue and gradually get worse and worse. We have to protect life at every stage. It is dangerous work in 21st century America, but together, we can make a difference.
